"A Day Out" - Rundle Mall Pigs

monument

Four bronze pigs wander the Rundle Mall, caught in a permanent, lifelike scramble for food. Officially titled A Day Out, the installation by sculptor Marguerite Derricourt features Horatio, Oliver, Truffles, and Augusta. You can find them foraging near a bronze-capped rubbish bin, with one pig sniffing the ground, another sitting, one standing, and a fourth trotting along. Unveiled on July third, nineteen ninety-nine, the sculptures were created to add a sympathetic, tactile presence to the city's main pedestrian thoroughfare.
