Two traditional Chinese arches, known as Paifang, mark the entrances to Moonta Street and define this district. Guarded by stone lions gifted by the Chinese government and the Adelaide City Council, these archways signal the center of a precinct that grew directly alongside the nearby Adelaide Central Market.
