The Hofburg Innsbruck is a former imperial palace with a white facade that extends along the Rennweg. Archduke Sigismund founded the site around fourteen sixty by incorporating sections of the medieval city's defensive walls. Later, in the eighteenth century, Empress Maria Theresa commissioned the Baroque and Rococo renovations that defined its current, opulent appearance.
