Kath. Pfarrkirche St. Nikolaus

The Pfarrkirche St. Nikolaus dominates its surroundings with the tall, slender forms of its Neo-Gothic architecture, rising prominently over the historic houses along the left bank of the Inn River. Designed by the Viennese architect Friedrich von Schmidt, the building was constructed between eighteen eighty-one and eighteen eighty-five. It stands on ground that has held religious structures since at least the early fourteenth century, including a chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas that was first mentioned in the year fourteen ninety-seven.
