Vrijdagmarkt

The Vrijdagmarkt is a large, rectangular public square in the heart of Ghent distinguished by a bronze statue of a man pointing toward England. This space has functioned as a commercial and political hub since the late twelfth century, and a weekly market has occupied the site every Friday since eleven ninety-nine.
