The Calgary Tower rises above the downtown skyline, a concrete column topped by a flared observation deck that reaches one hundred ninety-one meters into the air. Built in nineteen sixty-eight, the structure was originally named the Husky Tower. It was created as a joint venture between Marathon Realty and Husky Oil to celebrate the Canadian centennial and drive urban renewal in a quiet city center.
