Union Local 613 occupies a space at three hundred fifteen Somerset Street West in Centretown. The restaurant opened in two thousand twelve, founded by Ivan Gedz, Chris Lord, and Matthew Fantin, three friends who had previously worked at the Wellington Gastropub. They established the venue with a focus on Southern United States cuisine, featuring items like fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and biscuits and gravy, prepared with locally sourced ingredients.
