First Canadian Place

First Canadian Place is a seventy-two-story skyscraper defined by its brilliant white facade of Italian Carrara marble, a striking contrast to the steel and glass towers that fill the rest of the financial district. Located at the northwest corner of King and Bay streets, it sits on the site of the former Toronto Star headquarters. When the tower was completed in nineteen seventy-five, it claimed the title of the tallest building in Canada, a position it held for fifty years.
