Sankofa Square

landmark

Sankofa Square is defined by the massive, continuously glowing digital screens that wrap around its perimeter, casting a constant, shifting light across the granite plaza. Located at the southeast corner of Yonge and Dundas streets, this one-acre site was carved out of the city grid in the late nineteen-nineties as part of a regeneration project. The square serves as a high-traffic urban crossroads, often compared to times square or similar hubs of commerce and entertainment.
