The Ponte Gate, or Vrata od Ponte, serves as a historical threshold connecting the Old Town to the city's harbor. Constructed in fourteen seventy-six, this stone gateway stands west of the Great Arsenal and marks a point where the medieval city walls meet the activity of the waterfront. Architects Paskoje Miličević and Olivier Francigen designed the outer portion of the gate during a period when the Republic of Ragusa was heavily investing in its maritime defensive infrastructure.
