Srđ

Mount Srđ rises four hundred and twelve meters directly above Dubrovnik, a limestone peak marked by a large white stone cross and the stone walls of Fort Imperial. Long ago, this mountain was covered in dense oak forests that locals called dubrava, the source of the name for the city resting at its base.
