Nygade is the shortest street in Copenhagen. It forms a small but busy link in the city's main pedestrian thoroughfare, known as Stroget. While many streets in this area have long, winding histories, Nygade functions as a direct connection between the squares of Nytorv and Gammeltorv on one end, and the Vimmelskaftet section of the pedestrian strip on the other.
