Mur des Canuts

landmark

The Mur des Canuts is a twelve-hundred square meter trompe-l’oeil mural that covers the side of an otherwise blank building at the intersection of Boulevard des Canuts and Rue-Denfert-Rochereau. It is a hyper-realistic depiction of the Croix-Rousse neighborhood, featuring pastel-colored residential buildings, high windows designed for traditional silk looms, and a wide stone staircase that creates a sense of depth across the wall.
