The name of this small green space, the Square des Longs-Prés, refers to a medieval landholding that occupied this part of Boulogne-Billancourt long before the city became a center of industry. In the Middle Ages, the area was known by the name Longs Prés, a term for the expansive meadows that once bordered the Seine.
