Hôpital de Vaugirard Garden

landmark

The Jardin de l'Hôpital de Vaugirard is a seven thousand seventy square meter green space that slopes between the rue de Vaugirard and the rue Vaugelas. You can identify the site by its planting of hop hornbeams, beeches, and white birches, which climb the incline of the grounds. This land once held the kitchen gardens and orchards for seventeenth-century estates, including a property owned by the lieutenant general of police Nicolas de La Reynie.
