Quartier de Passy

historic

Passy sits on the high right bank of the Seine, defined today by its quiet, residential lanes and a collection of limestone apartment buildings that rise above the river. Once an independent village known for its hot mineral springs, this area drew wealthy Parisians and travelers who sought a retreat between the city and the royal estate at Versailles. It was formally incorporated into Paris in eighteen sixty, yet the district retains an atmosphere distinct from the denser parts of the capital.
