Porte de Saint-Ouen de Paris

The Porte de Saint-Ouen is one of seventeen gateways carved into the Thiers Wall, the defensive fortification built around Paris in the eighteen-forties. It stands at the boundary between the seventeenth and eighteenth arrondissements, marking the historical point where the city ended and the open fields toward the town of Saint-Ouen began.
