Hôtel Le Marois

The Hôtel Le Marois stands on avenue Franklin Delano Roosevelt as a classic nineteenth-century hôtel particulier, distinguished by its grand, neoclassical facade and its history as a private residence. Built in eighteen sixty-three by the architect Henri Parent for Count Le Marois, the son of a Napoleonic general, the building occupies land once home to the famous courtesan Marie Duplessis. Her life served as the inspiration for the novel The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas fils.
