The Théâtre du Rond-Point is recognizable by its circular structure, a remnant of its original design as a rotunda. Located at the intersection of Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Champs-Élysées, the building was completed in eighteen sixty by architect Gabriel Davioud. It first served as the National Panorama, where visitors viewed massive, three-hundred-and-sixty-degree mural paintings of historical battles and distant lands that wrapped around the interior walls.
