The Temple des Chartrons is recognizable by its neoclassical facade, which features four Ionic columns supporting a triangular pediment. Carved into the stone of that pediment is a rare relief showing an open Bible resting upon clouds. Designed by architect Armand Corcelles and completed in eighteen thirty-five, the building was constructed to serve the Protestant community in a district long defined by its international merchant families.
