Konstantinos Karamanlis Statue

The marble statue of Konstantinos Karamanlis stands along the Thessaloniki seafront, depicting the four-time prime minister and twice president leaning against a large block of stone for support. Sculpted by Praxitelis Tzanoulinos, the monument captures the political figure who oversaw the transition from dictatorship to democracy in the nineteen seventies and championed Greece's entry into the European Economic Community.
