Agora Modiano

Agora Modiano is a covered food market identifiable by its iron columns and large glass roof. Completed in nineteen twenty-five, the structure was designed by engineer Eli Modiano and architect Jacques Oliphant to serve as the city's central marketplace following a devastating fire in nineteen seventeen. It rose on the site of the former Talmud Torah Synagogue, becoming a cornerstone of the commercial district and a landmark of the city's twentieth-century redesign.
