Saint Athanasios Gate is a historic arched stone entrance set directly into the defensive walls of Rhodes. Built between fourteen forty-one and fourteen forty-two under Grand Master Jean de Lastic, the structure is flanked by the circular Tower of the Virgin, which was constructed to guard this specific passage into the medieval city.
