Kahal Shalom Synagogue

religious

The Kahal Shalom Synagogue is marked by a distinctive floor made of black and white stone pebbles, a design common to the walkways of the Old City of Rhodes. Completed in fifteen seventy-seven, it stands as the oldest synagogue in Greece and the only one still in use on the island. The building sits within what was once La Juderia, the historic Jewish quarter where six separate synagogues and prayer halls were active before the Second World War.
