Doe Statue

Two bronze statues, one of a stag and one of a doe, stand atop slender stone columns at the entrance to Mandraki Harbour. These deer, known locally as Elafos and Elafina, serve as the modern symbols of Rhodes. They were unveiled in nineteen forty-seven and now guard the harbor mouth, a location traditionally associated with the ancient Colossus of Rhodes.
