Port Bhavan, located on Shoorji Vallabhdas Marg, is a grade two A listed heritage building that houses the headquarters of the Mumbai Port Authority. It sits within the Ballard Estate, a twenty-two-acre commercial district reclaimed from the sea between nineteen fourteen and nineteen eighteen using earth excavated during the construction of the nearby Alexandra Docks, now known as Indira Dock.
