House of Poems

The Tomb of Hafez, often called the Hafezieh, is defined by an open, eight-pillared pavilion topped with a copper dome shaped like a dervish’s hat. Located in the Musalla Gardens at the northern edge of Shiraz, this mausoleum honors the fourteenth-century poet Hafez. Inside the pavilion, a marble slab covers his grave, engraved with his own verses in intricate calligraphy.
