The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is identifiable by its meticulously restored, four-story limestone facade, which features elaborate geometric carvings and rows of arched windows that blend Ottoman, Gothic, and Greco-Roman styles. Originally completed in nineteen twenty-nine as the Palace Hotel, the structure was commissioned by the Supreme Muslim Council. At the time, it stood as a feat of engineering for the city, housing the only elevators and central heating systems in the area.
