Tenjin Business Center

The Tenjin Business Center is recognizable by its pixelated glass façade, which uses overlapping layers to create a softened, irregular edge along the street. Standing nineteen floors tall, the building occupies the corner of Meiji-dori and Inabacho-dori, where its exterior appears to erode inward. This design choice, led by Fukuoka-born architect Shohei Shigematsu of the firm OMA, was intended to bridge the gap between private office space and the city’s public life.
