Beth-El Temple, also known as the Algerian Temple, stands in the Sidi Belyout district of Casablanca as the primary center for the city’s Jewish community. Completed in nineteen forty-nine by Algerian Jewish immigrants, the synagogue is identifiable by its Art Deco architecture, which features narrow, high windows and black domes accented with gilding.
