Sacred Heart Cathedral

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, or the Church of the Sacred Heart, is defined by its two massive, rectangular towers that rise above the city like square minarets. Built during the French Protectorate era, the structure features a stark white concrete facade that merges the verticality and pointed arches of Gothic architecture with the geometric simplicity of Art Deco. French architect Paul Tournon began construction in nineteen thirty, but the project took over two decades to complete.
