Bab Al Bahr, meaning Gate of the Sea, is a historic gateway located in the northern part of the Tangier Medina. It is characterized by its position along the city walls, where it opens toward the waters of the Strait of Gibraltar. This site once acted as a key element of the defensive system that protected Tangier, and it was from these fortifications that soldiers kept watch for incoming fleets.
