Cinéma Rif

Cinéma Rif is a distinctive Art Deco building recognizable by its stark white concrete facade and the bold lettering in Arabic and French painted in red across the front. It stands prominently on the edge of the Grand Socco, the square serving as the bustling entrance to the ancient medina. Originally opened around nineteen thirty-eight as the Cinema Rex, the theater became a focal point for the city’s cultural life throughout the twentieth century.
