The building at Noordeinde thirty-three is distinguished by a powerful stone facade and an imposing stature that has overlooked this street since eighteen eighty-three. Originally designed by architects Gerlof and Abraham Salm, the structure served for over a century as a branch of the Nederlandsche Bank. Its Neo-Renaissance design, complete with rich stone masonry and decorative detailing, was meant to project an aura of institutional strength and financial security directly across from the royal residence.
