Sandviksbodene

Sandviksbodene consists of a row of historic wooden warehouses perched directly over the water along the Byfjorden shoreline. These structures, built as part of Bergen’s seafaring and international trade network, originally served as vital storage spaces for export goods like stockfish arriving from Northern Norway. Many of these buildings date back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, reflecting a time when the harbor was the center of the city's economic life.
