Sandvikstorget

Sandvikstorget is defined by the statue of Madam Felle, a local woman whose name is immortalized in Bergen’s popular music. The square marks a significant point in the Sandviken neighborhood, a district that grew from a collection of water mills and shipyards into a bustling suburb. The land for this square was created in the mid-nineteen-twenties when twenty-three thousand cubic meters of rock were blasted away to clear the route for the coastal road.
