Hevre occupies the former Beit Midrash Hevra Tehilim, a prayer house built in eighteen ninety-six for the Society of Psalms. Designed by architect Nachman Kopald, the building stands at the corner of Meiselsa and Bożego Ciała streets in the Kazimierz district. After the Holocaust left the interior devastated, the site served as the headquarters for the Krakowiacy Song and Dance Ensemble for over fifty years.
