Kraków Główny

landmark

Kraków Główny is the primary railway station in the city, identified by its modern, underground passenger concourse that sits directly beneath the tracks. While most travelers now move through this subterranean hall, the site preserves its history in the old terminal building, constructed between eighteen forty-four and eighteen forty-seven by the architect Rosenbaum. This original structure, which runs parallel to the tracks, once served as the terminus for the Kraków-Upper Silesia Railway.
