Imperial Shipyard

The Imperial Shipyard sits along the Martwa Wisła River, defined by its sprawling network of historic brick workshops, rusted cranes, and industrial docks that stretch toward the city center. Originally founded by the Prussian authorities in the mid-nineteenth century, it began as the Royal Shipyard before being renamed in eighteen seventy-one. For decades, this site served as a major center for naval engineering, producing submarines and warships that influenced the course of two world wars.
