Bread Bridge - "Bridge of Love"

The Bread Bridge, or Most Chlebowy, is a small canal crossing in Gdańsk recognized by the hundreds of colorful padlocks clamped to its metal railings. While it now serves as a local symbol of romance, its name recalls its origin as a marketplace. During the Middle Ages, local bakers and merchants set up their stalls directly on this crossing to sell fresh loaves and pastries to the city’s residents.
