Dom Schumannów

The Schumann House stands at the very end of Długa Street, where the narrow row of buildings gives way to the wide open space of the Długi Targ. You can recognize this red-fronted Renaissance townhouse by the statues of Diana, Apollo, and Zeus lining its gable, and the tall, arched portal that marks its entrance. Completed in fifteen sixty for a wealthy city councilor named Hans Connert, the building served as a private residence long before it took on the name of the Schumann family, who held it for over two centuries.
