The Green Gate stands between the Long Market and the Motława River, distinguished by four tall arched passageways that carry pedestrians beneath its massive, symmetrical facade. Built between fifteen sixty-four and fifteen sixty-eight, the structure is a work of Dutch Mannerism, designed by the Amsterdam architect Regnier van Amsterdam and constructed under the supervision of Hans Kramer from Dresden.
