Chlebnicka Gate

The Chlebnicka Gate stands out as a three-story brick structure featuring a single, prominent octagonal turret at its northeastern corner. This late-Gothic building, which dates back to at least thirteen seventy-seven, originally served as a water gate, providing access to the city from the Motława River. Its name, Bread Gate, traces back to the medieval stalls that once lined the surrounding street to sell bread and other baked goods.
