The Museum of the Polish Post Office occupies an impressive Romanesque-Revival building that sits at the center of a cobbled square. This site marks one of the earliest battles of the Second World War, beginning at four forty-five in the morning on September first, nineteen thirty-nine. On that day, German police and assault troops attacked the Polish Post Office and Telegraph Office, which had operated here since nineteen twenty-five under the Treaty of Versailles.
