Facultade de Xeografía e Historia USC

The Facultade de Xeografía e Historia is housed within a massive granite building, defined by four giant-order Ionic columns that frame its entrance. Originally constructed in the eighteenth century based on designs by architect Melchor de Prado, the structure occupies the former site of a Jesuit college. Its exterior is marked by a deliberate interplay of recessed and projecting wall sections, a technique intended to create a sense of movement across the facade.
