The Pazo de Raxoi is the long, symmetrical palace that encloses the western edge of the Praza do Obradoiro, directly facing the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Its neoclassical facade is defined by a series of clean, orderly columns and a portico with architraves that stands in contrast to the ornate stone of the neighboring cathedral. At the very center, a sculpture of Saint James the Apostle on horseback crowns the building above a stone relief depicting the battle of Clavijo.
