The Praza da Inmaculada is defined by its irregular, cobblestone ground plan, bounded by the massive Baroque facade of the Monastery of San Martiño Pinario and the northern Acibechería facade of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Pilgrims arriving from the north have traditionally entered the city through the nearby Puerta del Camino and reached this square as their final approach to the cathedral.
