Porta do Camiño

Porta do Camiño, or the Gate of the Way, marks the historic entrance into Santiago de Compostela for pilgrims arriving on the French Way. While the medieval stone structure that once stood here has long since vanished, the site remains a distinct intersection where the streets of Rúa de San Pedro, As Rodas, and A Ensinanza meet. Between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, this point served as a primary defensive entry in the city walls.
