Carola garabia

The Carola crane stands as a sixty-meter-tall red iron lattice against the sky, marking the site of the former Euskalduna Shipyards. Built in nineteen fifty-seven, it was once the most powerful crane in Spain, designed to lift thirty-ton sections of ship hulls and machinery onto the slipways. It is the only shipyard crane left in Bilbao, a survivor from the era when the estuary was dominated by industrial metalwork and the thunder of rivets.
