The Torre Iberdrola rises above the skyline as a slender, triangular glass prism, easily identified by the way its curved faces taper toward the sky like an elongated obelisk. Designed by the architect César Pelli and officially opened in twenty-twelve, the tower stands one hundred sixty-five meters tall. It occupies a central position in the Abandoibarra district, an area that was once defined by industrial railway yards and shipyards before its modern urban renewal.
